I do! I have a limited number of spaces available for reduced rate therapy for 60-minute sessions.
I understand that conversations about financial accessibility can feel awkward or bring up uncomfortable emotions for some. I want to let you know that in the past, I have needed sliding scale options for my own therapy - and I am so grateful to the therapists that have accommodated my financial capacity. It is an honour and pleasure for me to be able to offer this to others seeking mental health care, and to integrate this as part of my practice model.
To access sliding scale & reduced rate therapy - please email me at brittany@mossandmoontherapy.com or book a free 15-minute consultation to discuss options & availability.
-
I require 48-hours notice for any appointment cancellation or rescheduling.
This notice allows me to offer the appointment time to other clients who may be waiting for availability, while also supporting the sustainability of my practice.
Appointment reminders are sent by email prior to your session. You may make changes to your appointment directly through JANE or by contacting me directly.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments (no-shows), will be charged the full session fee.
Please note that insurance providers typically do not reimburse fees for missed or late-cancelled appointments.
I understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can arise, and exceptions may be considered at my discretion.

Therapy looks different for everyone - I wish I could offer more certainty in this answer, but I cannot. The length of our work together will depend on many factors, including your goals, the complexity of what you are navigating, the pace that feels supportive for your nervous system, and the depth of exploration you are seeking.
Additionally, some folks come to therapy for support around a specific challenge or life transition, while others seek longer-term work focused on deeper relational patterns, trauma, or somatic work.
I have witnessed change occur in a few sessions, and change that’s taken years to come to fruition. I’m here to support you through whichever season you find yourself in.
Throughout our time together, we will continue to check in together about your goals, your evolving needs, and what feels most supportive to you and your vision for this work.
-
Beginning therapy can feel very vulnerable for some folks and I want to do what I can to make you feel comfortable with me prior to beginning therapy.
I offer free 15-minute consultations as an opportunity for us to connect, for you to ask any questions you may have, and for you to get a felt sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. It is conversational style, and there is no pressure to make a decision on the spot.
Finding the right therapeutic relationship matters significantly! Research suggests it is the single strongest predictor of successful therapeutic outcomes, meaning, having a therapist who you connect well with is integral to the progress and ‘success’ of your therapy experience.
If you would like to explore whether I’d be a good fit for your hopes and goals for therapy, I invite you to book a consultation here.
-
Forget the rigid, boring intake questions! In our first session, we will be creating space for your story and your hopes for therapy. I want to understand what has brought you here, what feels most present for you, what you may already understand about your struggles, and what you hope could feel different through therapy.
You can arrive to session with clear goals or specific concerns, or a wish to understand yourself more deeply and explore your desires for life. You also may have no idea what you want to talk about! All is welcome here, and all are meaningful places to begin.
The first session - and all sessions with me - are collaborative, relational, and client-centred. This means that rather than arriving with a predetermined map of what therapy should look like, each session becomes a living dialogue - something co-created between us in the present. Together, we make space to follow what is said and felt in the moment, trusting that what comes up in the session often carries its own wisdom and guidance to explore.
-
Therapy with me is relational and collaborative. This means the relationship we build is an important part of the therapy itself, and we work together to move towards your therapeutic goals.
I believe change can become possible through safe, attuned connection. As such, the therapeutic relationship can be a place where old patterns and wounds can be compassionately examined, and new patterns can be created in session - with the intention that they will translate outside of session too!
Our work may involve slowing down to notice recurring patterns, exploring the stories you carry about yourself and others, deepening awareness of emotions and bodily responses, and allowing space to say what has remained unsaid. I may offer reflections, ask deeper questions, or invite us to stay with something to feel it through.
For a more in-depth sense of my therapeutic approach, I invite you to read more about who I am as a therapist here and my therapeutic approach here.
I integrate various systemic and relational modalities, which you can read about here.
This integrative style allows me to meet you where you are, and adapt therapy to your unique presence, needs, and hopes for our work together.
-
There are a few ways to decide whether we might be a good fit for therapy work:
Book a free 15-minute consultation - this is a space where you can ask your questions of me, and get a sense for whether my style and approach to therapy would help you feel comfortable and open to work on your goals.
Book a session - It can take time to decide whether this is the right therapeutic relationship for you. You are more than welcome to begin sessions without a consultation, and decide through our work together whether it is meeting your unique needs and hopes for therapy.
Email your questions - I’m happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have at brittany@mossandmoontherapy.com
Lastly - trust yourself! I have designed this website with the intention that my voice, my values, and my approach as a therapist can come through strongly. If you resonate with my words, or the energy you find throughout my website, I encourage you to reach out and connect with me about working together.
-
After each session, you will be e-mailed an invoice. You can choose to e-transfer me at brittany@mossandmoontherapy.com or pay with a credit card.
Late payments (over 48 hours after session) will automatically be charged via credit card on file.
Once payment has been received, you will receive a receipt via email.
If there are any issues with making payments on time, please connect with me and we can discuss how to best move forward.
-
I do! Please note you will need to check if your insurance policy covers “Registered Psychotherapists”. If you have any questions about this, I encourage you to reach out to your insurance provider, as they can provide details regarding the amount of coverage you have per calendar year.

I chose the name Moss & Moon because both words carry deep symbolic meaning in how I understand relationships and sustainable change.
Teachings of Moss and the Moon
Moss offers us ancient teachings about the nature of healing. Soft, quiet, and often overlooked, moss is among the oldest plant life on Earth. As Potawatomi botanist and writer Robin Wall Kimmerer describes, moss was one of the first beings to blanket bare rock, transforming what was once barren into living ground capable of sustaining new life. Moss grows slowly, through patience and adaptability to the world around it.
The symbolism of moss teaches us what can be possible in therapy - as deep, relational therapy work asks for slowness, a willingness to change, and connection to others. Moss thrives through community, each strand helping hold moisture for the whole colony - it is not an isolated organism. In much the same way, human beings are not meant to heal in isolation. We are shaped in relationship, wounded in relationship, and healed through new relational experiences of care, attunement, trust, and safety. Moss flourishes through interconnectedness and reciprocity. I find this deeply meaningful in therapeutic work, as it is helpful to be reminded that healing is not always about becoming “fixed” or more optimized. Often, it is about softening, slowing down, and learning to live in deeper relationship with ourselves, our bodies, each other, and the worlds around us.
The Moon speaks to another dimension of my work: cycles, rhythm, intuition, and the ever-changing nature of being human. The moon reminds us that we are beings designed to live in seasons and in duality. There are seasons of expansion and contraction, depth and lightness, love and grief. I look to the moon for teachings of healing, as I believe when we learn the magic of living in cycles of beginning, ending, and beginning again - we form a relationship with life that is mysterious, beautiful, and alive.
Together, Moss & Moon reflects my belief that healing is rooted in both earth and sky, body and spirit - all in relationship to each other.
